David Taicher has established an impressive career across a wide range of disciplines including feature films, commercials, corporate communications, media promotion, documentaries, as well as episodic and live broadcast television.
As a Director of Photography, David’s attention to detail, affinity for composition, lighting and design, define his true visual sense and passion for the art. His time as an editor and director bring an awareness and sensitivity to the set, yielding a compelling impact on the edit and final project. David has always been aware of the significance of camera movement to the narrative and the affect it can have to the emotion of the scene. He has developed into an accomplished Steadicam Operator over the past 17 years. His immediate connection to the Steadicam and the allure to move the camera led to David’s involvement in some of the most innovative specialty camera systems in the world; Skycam, Gocam, Flycam and Batcam. Through camera movement and the capabilities of these systems, we can design and develop shots that reinvent how events are captured.
David has an extensive commercial and corporate client list that includes: Vanguard, Comcast, GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts, United Way, U.S. Military Academy, Lockheed Martin, Unisys, Motorola and many more. He has traveled the world working on The Olympics, Nike Brazil World Tour Soccer and Isle of MTV, as well as national events like; The Super Bowl, Indy 500, Summer & Winter X-Games and championships for the NBA, NCAA and NHL. His latest feature film credit as the A-Camera/Steadicam Operator is on Jason Statham’s action thriller “Safe” due out this year.
David prides himself on his dedication and complete commitment to each and every project. His enthusiasm and love for his work is quite evident throughout the process and in the finished product. He has been the recipient of many prestigious awards for his work in commercials, industrials and television. David is an active member of the Steadicam Operators Association and the International Cinematographers Guild.
